Early Life and Education

Chigozie Alichi Mbah, also known as Chizzy Alichi, was born on December 23, 1989 in Enugu state. She is from the Ezza Nkwubor Nike in Enugu East LGA, Enugu state, a predominantly Igbo state in Nigeria.

She will be 33 years old in 2022, and she is the last of her parents’ three children. She attended primary and secondary school in the same state before enrolling at Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where she earned a degree in Agricultural Engineering in 2014.

During her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program, she was assigned to Umunya village in Anambra State’s Oyi Local Government Area.

Chizzy entered the Nigerian film industry following her education at ESUT, where she enlisted as an actress with the Actors Guild of Nigeria and auditioned. Her first film role was in the 2010 film “Magic Money,” which starred Mercy Johnson and Bob-Manuel Udokwu.

Her career took off after she appeared in the 2016 film “Akara Oku,” which translates to “Hot Akara,” directed by Yul Edochie. In the film, she played “Akara Oku,”

Chizzy’s exceptional acting talent and skill have kept her relevant and successful in the industry. She rose to prominence after appearing in Ernest Obi’s 2011 film Drop of Blood, which starred Ngozi Ezeonu, Patience Ozokwor, Mike Ezuruonye, Chigozie Atuanya, Camilla Mberekpe, Dagunro, Emeka Ani, and Lizzy Onuwaje. The film, Drop of Blood was about two women who lost their husbands six months apart due to an unknown illness. They are forced to seek a solution after their children are killed by an unknown illness. Chizzy was nominated for Best New Actress of the Year (English) at the City Peoples Entertainment Awards in 2017.
